Grants will close 18 September 2018.
These volunteer grants support the efforts of Australian volunteers, with a focus this year particularly on volunteers working with vulnerable communities and individuals.
Funding from $1,000 to $5,000 is open to individuals or organisations who represent volunteer-based community groups that support families or communities in Australia.
The funding can be used for:
Eligible small equipment – Portable, tangible items and equipment for the benefit of the volunteers.
Transportation – Mainly for volunteers with disability and cannot drive, can reimburse PUV expenses.
Fuel costs – For volunteers who use their own cars for volunteer work, eg. while delivering food and helping people in need, can reimburse fuel expenses.
Training – For volunteers who undergo training to enhance their skills and become qualified for volunteer work.
Background screening checks of volunteers – including criminal record checks, police checks and certificates and Working with Children and Vulnerable People checks. Most of these checks are mandatory for volunteers.
