Game On: Teaming Up for Climate Action Round 1
Calling all Sports Club clients – start getting ready EARLY for this grant opportunity!
And YES, I say this allllll the time – and YES, most people still leave their project planning and quotes until the last minute! But with this opportunity, being ready early MATTERS!
This is an “open non-competitive” grant –. That means the round will close earlier than the advertised closing date if sufficient applications are received, and “if the round is oversubscribed”, applications will be considered in the order they are received.
Past experience says it’s safe to assume the round WILL close early, because it WILL be oversubscribed. If you haven’t got everything ready to go by June 11, it’s safe to assume you may well miss out!

- Opening Date: June 11, 2026 (Be ready!)
- Closing Date: July 8, 2026, 9:00 pm AEST (Don’t wait until this date!)
- Grant Amount – $25,000 to $100,000 (GST exclusive)
If you have a project that will help reduce energy bills, make a positive environmental impact and inspire positive participation in climate resilience – then this is for you. The program is designed to support community sports clubs in decarbonizing and enhancing energy efficiency, so eligible projects include activities like:
- Energy efficiency upgrades (solar PV, battery storage, LED lighting upgrades, heat pumps, heating/cooling, appliances, ceiling insulation, energy efficient appliances etc).
- Climate resilience improvements (like shade, stormwater management, water-saving, smart irrigation, EV charging and disaster readiness infrastructure).
- Communication and education activities to promote climate awareness and resilience.
Start seeking quotes, getting plans drawn and collating all necessary documentation to ensure your application is ready to submit when the round opens.
Remember, funding will be limited and projects will be assessed in the order they are received, so don’t delay!

The Jeffrey & Geraldine Underhill Grant
Opens 18 May 2026. Closing 28 June 2026
Grants up to $10,000. For assets, facility improvements and minor infrastructure projects benefiting the Redland City. Click link.
Gold Coast City Council Community Projects Program
Rolling non-competitive application with grants assessed within 4 weeks of receipt. Closing 30 May 2026.

Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor’s Community Fund
Closing 12 June 2026. Councillor discretionary funding program
Funding of $250 – $10,000. For local projects that create stronger social bonds. Read here.
Fraser Coast Regional Council – Major Regional Events Sponsorships
Round 1 opens 1 July 2026. Closing 29 July 2026
Funding from $10,000 or higher. For projects that position the Fraser Coast as an event-friendly destination by supporting a vibrant, balanced events calendar that drives overnight stays, visitor spending, and strong economic returns. Info here.
Redland City Council Community Celebration Grant
Round 1 opens 13 July 2026. Closing 2 August 2026
Funding up to $15,000. For small-scale, localised celebration events that foster inclusion, cultural diversity and community spirit. Click link.
Redland City Council Community Support Grant
Round 1 opens 27 July 2026. Closing 16 August 2026
Funding up to $20,000. For projects that provide opportunities to meet social, cultural, recreational, or environmental outcomes for the Redland City community. Read info.
Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants (GO7626)
Closing 21 January 2027
The program aims to commemorate the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel who served in wars, conflicts and peace operations, including National Service personnel, and their families.
Community Grants – up to $10,000 are available for local, community-based projects and activities.
Major Grants – $10,001 and $150,000 available for major commemorative projects and activities that are significant from a national, state, territory and/or broader regional perspective. Read here.
Bundaberg Regional Council Sport Championship Funding
Open all year round until budgeted funds are expended
Grants up to $5,000. For regional, state, international sporting events that attract majority participation from outside the region. Link here.
