May 2020 Grants Update

 

COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Grants Program

Redland City Council recently opened the COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Grants Program. This program repurposes community grant and sponsorship funds to provide targeted support to Redlands Coast small businesses and community organisations in response to COVID-19 impacts.

The COVID-19 Community Organisation Support Grant – provides funding up to $10,000 for Redlands based community organisations that are providing support and relief to local community members impacted by COVID-19.

The COVID-19 Business Support Grant – provides funding via two streams:
1. Professional advice – up to $1000 for professional advice (offered by local Redlands providers) including: accounting, financial planning, business coaching/planning, grant support, legal or human resource services and other business-specific advisers.
2. Innovation –  up to $5000 for businesses to re-engineer/restructure operations for business viability and continuity. May include new technology use; R&D; or innovative products, services, projects or collaborations.

Online Safety Grants Program

Applications are NOW OPEN – closing 5pm AEST 21 May 2020.

Grant funding of between $80,000 and $1 million for non-government organisations that deliver online safety education to children, young people and their communities, or training to those who work with them.

The program is open to non-government organisations that can demonstrate an ability to use evidence-based research and best practice in online safety education to develop services, resources and products that provide new solutions for improving online safety. Coronavirus SME Guarantee Scheme

Under the Coronavirus SME Guarantee Scheme, the Government will provide a guarantee of 50 per cent to SME lenders for new unsecured loans to be used for working capital. This will enhance lenders’ willingness and ability to provide credit, which will result in SMEs being able to access additional funding to help support them through the upcoming months.

SMEs with a turnover of up to $50 million will be eligible. The Government will provide guarantee for loans with a max. total of $250,000 per borrower. Loans will be up to three years, with an initial six month repayment holiday & will be unsecured finance

Jeffrey and Geraldine Underhill Community Grants Program

Opens Friday 15 May 2020. Closing 30 June 2020.

The program welcomes applications of up to $10,000 for small infrastructure upgrades and contributions towards major infrastructure projects in the Redlands. Types of projects may include: minor facility improvements; assets that enhance service delivery capacity including specialized equipment, display material, musical, sporting or safety equipment; small infrastructure projects; and part funding towards major infrastructure including the extension of current facilities, field lighting etc. Read here.

 

Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor’s Community Fund

The Lord Mayor’s Community Fund supports community projects that build a stronger Brisbane. Applications are open and close Friday 12 June 2020, or when funds exhaust. Projects must contribute to the Brisbane Vision. Grant amounts are between $250 – $10,000 (GST exclusive) per organisation. Read here.

 

QLD Health Covid-19 Grant Fund

The QLD Government has released a $28 million fund to support Queensland’s community-based health service groups as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Organisations delivering critical public health services across the state can apply for funding to ensure a range of critical public health services.

There is no specific cap proposals; however, budgets must be transparent and show accountable use of public funds. Grant Funds will be paid as soon as practicable to successful Applicants and will need to be acquitted by 31 July 2021. For further info read here.
