Local Business Woman Nominated for National Awards

AusMumpreneur 2022 Awards Finalist Lisa Nardone

Lisa Nardone of local business GrantsPlus Consulting Pty Ltd is a Finalist in two categories of the national 2022 AusMumpreneur Awards.

The AusMumpreneur Awards presented by The Women’s Business School celebrate and recognise Australian Mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, tech, product development, customer service and innovation. The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who have or do successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.

A former educator and public servant and now a successful business owner Lisa began GrantsPlus Consulting in early 2010. Since that time, the business has not only survived the ups and downs, but has thrived. Over this time, Lisa has successfully gained almost $17M in grant funding for clients in the community and corporate grants. Lisa’s inspiration and motivation for the business lies in her passion for helping not-for-profit and for-profit businesses to succeed, grow and deliver on their business and community outcomes.

There are many benefits to balancing business and home life. Lisa says that as a business owner, mum, wife and daughter, “It’s important to know when to reach out to others for help or advice; to those whose skills complement, rather than replicate your own.”

“The greatest lesson being in business has taught me has been to believe in yourself, embrace advice and support from others and never give up.”

Lisa is proud of her achievements, in the last 12 months she has written over $4.3M in grants for her clients.  With over $2.7M already successful and some still under assessment, Lisa has some very satisfied customers. She attributes this success to her focus on quality, professional service, and the trusted relationships she builds with each client.

It can be challenging to be a successful businesswoman whilst running a home and managing family-work balance. Lisa offers this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise, “You don’t need to be perfect to start, you just need to start – the perfect will come… Don’t let fear of failing or not being good enough stand in your way.”
