QLD Government Game On! Infrastructure Grants
At a recent launch event in Redlands, I managed to have a good chat with Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tim Mander, MP. Straight from his lips to this newsletter, word is that a competitive round of infrastructure funding should be released before Xmas, for application early in the New Year. We all know that timelines like this can be pretty loose, but we can remain hopeful and start to get our sports infrastructure projects rolling, to get ahead of the crowd. That being said, I encourage all clients to have their projects clearly defined; their Council approvals started; and their drawings/plans/quotes underway NOW (not later!). The biggest issue for clients over the last few years has been getting permissions, approvals and decent quotes within the grant period. Getting in EARLY means YOUR Council approvals get done first, YOUR Landowners’ consent is written; YOUR quotes are done properly and can be easily updated when the time comes; and YOUR projects can be closer to ‘shovel ready’ than your competitors’ projects. Every little bit of prep’ you can put in NOW will make it that much easier for you when the grant actually opens.

Business Growth Fund
Business Growth Fund Round 7 is NOW OPEN for Registration of Interest (ROI) – $50,000 – $75,000 (excluding GST) for specialised equipment that enables your business to grow. The first stage allows you to propose a project idea and closes 5pm, Friday 30 January 2026 (Stage 1 – ROI). Not all ROI’s will be invited to submit a full application. Projects must be for the purchase of innovative and/or specialised equipment, directly contributing to scaling business growth, enhancing productivity and competitiveness, creating sustainable employment opportunities, and maximising economic returns. Specialised equipment is considered an independent or additional piece of complex machinery that meets certain criteria under the guidelines. More information here.

Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor’s Community Fund
Rolling application, Councillor discretionary funding program
Funding of $250 – $10,000. For local projects that create stronger social bonds. Read here.
Queensland Gives by QCF General Fund Capacity Building Grants
Closing 12 December 2025
Grants up to $40,000. To support organisational capacity building of mid-tier organisations. Read more here.
Queensland Gives by QCF Regional Grant-Making
Closing 12 December 2025
Grants between $5,000 to $30,000. To support organisations providing aged care, family support, children, health and welfare, youth and arts in Goldcoast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Darling Downs and Northern QLD. More info.
RACQ Foundation
Closing 19 December 2025
To help QLD community groups, charities, organisations, First Nations Councils and clubs impacted by natural disasters. This includes both recovery grants and resilience-based project grants which may relate to physical, nature-based and social solutions. Info here.
Secure Communities Partnership Program
Round 2 open for small and family businesses, closing 26 January 2026
Small and family businesses that have been significantly impacted by crime in the last 3 years can apply for grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 (excluding GST). Applicants must co-contribute at least 50% towards the total project costs. More information.
Family Support Funding Program (GO7963)
Closing 31 January 2026
Funding between $20,000 to $200,000. For innovative projects that empower military families and their communities to develop strong coping mechanisms, foster a supportive environment, and promote overall well-being. Check here.
Brisbane City Council Community Support Category
Opens 23 March 2026. Closing 11 May 2026
Funding up to $10,000. For projects that respond to local community needs, improve community facilities and build organisational capacity. Read here.
Gold Coast City Council Community Projects Program
Rolling non-competitive application with grants assessed within 4 weeks of receipt. Closing 1 June 2026.

Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants (GO7626)
Open competitive grant opportunity
The program aims to commemorate the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel who served in wars, conflicts and peace operations, including National Service personnel, and their families.
Community Grants – up to $10,000 are available for local, community-based projects and activities.
Major Grants – $10,001 and $150,000 available for major commemorative projects and activities that are significant from a national, state, territory and/or broader regional perspective. Read here.
Bundaberg Regional Council Sport Championship Funding
Open all year round until budgeted funds are expended
Grants up to $5,000. For regional, state, international sporting events that attract majority participation from outside the region. Link here.
Townsville City Council Community Grants
Rolling application
Funding up to $25,000. For projects including festivals, events, competitions, workshops and projects (check eligibility criteria). Check here.
GRANTS FOR SMALL BUSINESS
Business Growth Fund
Closing 30 January 2026
Grants from $50,000 to $75,000 (ex GST). This program targeting high-growth businesses who can accelerate growth, drive Queensland’s economy and employ more Queenslanders. Info here.
Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship Grant (WISE) Round 5 (GO7965)
Closing 18 February 2026
Estimated grant value of $1M to $2M. The program supports investment in gender equity initiatives that aim for lasting systemic change by eliminating barriers for women’s participation in STEM education and careers, and entrepreneurship. More info.
