$10 000 Council Grant For Women’s Centre

Lisa Nardone, GrantsPlus Consulting Director, assisted the conceptualisation and planning of a project for the Redlands Centre for Women, which has enabled them to deliver education and support to first time young mums and document their journey through a unique photographic exhibition.

The “Great Expectations – Journey to Motherhood” project was funded through the Redland City Council community grants program. Funding enabled the Redlands Centre for Women to employ the services of a local photographer and journalist to document the journeys of a group of first time young mothers. In addition, the Centre worked in partnership with volunteers and midwives from Redlands Hospital to provide educational support and guidance to groups of young mothers as part of an innovative Young Parent Program.
